Nemocón is a small colonial village full of charm, 65 km north of Bogotá. In the Muisca language, its name means "warrior's sob": this is where the Zipas mourned the death of their leaders in battle. The underground salt mine is a real attraction, even if its visit is much less impressive than the salt cathedral of Zipaquirá. But the site is simpler and less religious. A less commercial and more authentic experience, and if like us, you are lucky enough to be alone underground, the ride is intoxicating!
