You want to see these mountains in colour, but don't feel up to the more demanding climb to Vinicunca? This is the place to be: in Palccoyo. Bonus, much less people on the spot. Of course you won't have the same taste and happiness of the accomplished climb as at the neighbouring Vinicunca and the road trips are long (about 3h30 one way and the same for the return). It's up to you to make the choice that suits you best, but Palccoyo offers a lot of advantages to see these rainbow mountains without sacrificing yourself. There are few options on site, but agencies include lunch in local restaurants.
