Argelato would come from the Latin clay because its soil would be particularly clay. «Argelatus» also means extended land. There are also documents dating back to 1046, when Argelato became a fief of the countess Matilde di Canossa, which between the xie and the xiith century ruled all the field lumard. Today, Funo di Argelato, with nearly 10,000 inhabitants, is home to the Ferruccio Lamborghini Museum, which was designed by his son Tonino Lamborghini to trace the history of the car manufacturer deceased in 1993 in Perugia and founder in 1963 of the Lamborghini brand.
