The island of Ookolhufinolhu is located at the very south of the Lhaviyani Atoll, opposite the local island of Olhuvelifushi. It enjoys a beautiful turquoise lagoon that stretches endlessly into the deep blue Indian Ocean. The Coccon Maldives resort has occupied the island since January 2017. This charming cocoon belongs to a hotel group that called on a great name in Italian design, Daniele Lago, to design it. The concept of extreme modernity may throw some people off, but this bold choice stands out from the traditional Maldivian offering. And let's face it, when it comes to design, the Italians know how to do it. The furniture has been designed to seem to float in the air. Noble and natural materials have been favoured, with the sporadic use of bicentennial oak. A large number of villas and suites have been built on stilts, while the island is home to beach villas scattered throughout the lush, leafy landscape. Many activities are on the agenda, with a focus on water sports, of course. This resort will delight urbanites at heart who have come to take a break and party lovers, as every evening the bar is transformed into a club for dancing until the end of the night. The resort even organises a dance festival in December with workshops to learn Afro-Latin dances in particular and evenings hosted by well-known DJs.
