An island of charm par excellence and a haven of peace for the parents of former President Franklin D. Roosevelt who installed their summer residence. A beautiful 34-piece villa built in a magnificent area of forest, marshes and 1 158-hectare shores that visit the beautiful season. Occupied first by the Amerindian community Passamaquoddys, the island was originally called Abahquit Island, "Parallel with mainland land", before being occupied by settlers from New England in 1766. Its diverse landscape of salt marshes, bogs, coniferous forests and wild shores are just as remarkable as the marine and terrestrial fauna that people are living in the seabed and wooded areas. Golf fans will also find their holes in the green. Access to the island is done by a ferry from the island of Deer, its neighbour.
