A small port village, it is home to the Huronia Museum, which includes a reconstruction of traditional Huron-Wendat dwellings, and the Wye Marsh Wildlife Centre, a natural wetland site. Feel like taking to the sea? Cruises are available on Georgian Bay. Note: the grain silos overlooking the bay are decorated with the image of a Jesuit and a Wendat. This is just one of more than 30 murals in the downtown area, depicting bits of local history. The brush of German artist Fred Lenz has brought these murals to life, making the city the mural capital of Ontario.
