It has about 11,000 inhabitants. It can be reached by taking the IP3 between Coimbra and Viseu. It is the town where Antonio Salazar was born. Besides that, this is a small picturesque village crossed, as its name indicates, by the Dão and close to the Mondego. Here you can enjoy a stroll along the river, between its historic town in baroque style, the Igreja Matriz and the Largo do Municipio. In this square, a nice market takes place every third Wednesday of the month. For information, the tourist office (open from 9am to 4pm) is on the ground floor of the 17th-18th century Casa das Arcos, right next to the church. Nice stop.
