Mathiveri allows you to experience local life, to become part of the community by participating in island activities, to participate in the preparation of local dishes and to explore Maldivian culture in complete tranquillity. The island is not very big, it is only 14 hectares in size and has about 900 inhabitants. Mathiveri has a typical Maldivian face with brightly painted one-storey houses. The island's economy is mainly based on tuna fishing.
