Named after Mount Garibaldi, this provincial park was created in 1927 in honor of Giuseppe Garibaldi, Italian patriot and adventurer. The park has 5 entrances along Highway 99 and offers, on its 1,950 km2, campsites (about 200), hiking trails (more than 90 km in total) and high peaks (Garibaldi, 2,678 m, and Sir Richard, 2,438 m). Its rich geological history, snow-capped mountains and varied wildlife make it a favorite destination for nature lovers. The most courageous can undertake the 18 km Garibaldi Lake hike and enjoy all its beauty. Remember to reserve in advance for camping.
