Ardagh is a small, elegant village of around 80 inhabitants, some ten kilometers southeast of Longford. The houses here feature a truly unique architecture, created by the Fetherstons family in the 1700s. Listed as a Heritage Village, Ardagh boasts a number of sites of interest, including the Clock Tower (1862) and the neo-Gothic Brigids Church (1881). The Heritage Centre is a place for artistic creation and information, but also has a small store selling local crafts. In summer, you can enjoy a coffee on the terrace.
