The Arkhoti Valley or Assa Valley is a completely uninhabited valley. It runs parallel to the valley of Argouni. All its inhabitants were deported to Lower Georgia during the Stalinist era. No roads were built to the Arkhoti Valley, leaving room for even more spectacular nature. It is an ideal place for wild and remote hiking. For example, the upper valley can be reached in a hike of several hours from Rochka via the Bogovatchosgele Pass (2,968 m). From the Piraketa and the Aragvi Khevsoure valley, it is reached via the Arkhota Pass (2,935 m) at the foot of Mount Arkhoti (3,172 m).
