In Tchargali, on the right side of the road at the junction of the Aragvi Mountains, stands the house-museum of Vaja Pchavela, the poet, a native of the village. It is a Soviet building paying homage to the regional folklore, imitating the towers and fortresses of the Pchavo-Khevsoures. Vaja Pchavela, "the guy from Pchavia" (1861-1915), was a romantic poet who sang about the mountains, especially the inaccessible Khevsourétie. After a few years, where he regularly clashed with the administrative authorities, he returned to his native village, where he led the simple and laborious life of the peasants, without ceasing to write. Vaja was glorified in Soviet times as a people's singer.
