Less than 2 kilometers south of the Sea Clif Bridge, Scarborough is a small seaside town located at the beginning of a long string of beaches relatively suitable for surfing. These beaches stretch for about 7 kilometers along the Grand Pacific Drive, via Coledale and Thirroul. The small beach offers a fantastic view of the coast and the cliffs. There are parks nearby for families to picnic. The Scarborough Beach Clock Tower is a 1970s monument to European settlers surrounded by newer residential buildings.
