This small rural center 160 km from Brisbane is nicknamed the city of roses and rodeo. Stroll through the tree-lined streets or Leslie Park to smell the delicate flowers and admire the old buildings. Every year, on the last weekend in October, the best stockmen and other skilled riders gather for the Warwick Rodeo, one of the largest events in the country, attracting as many as 30,000 people. During July, the Jumpers and Jazz Festival decorates the city's trees with handmade sweaters. For backpackers, there is work from August to December, during the asparagus season.
