Originally named Peppermint Bay, Woodbridge is located on the D'Entrecasteaux Canal, across from Bruny Island. Built in the 1850s and renamed Woodbridge in 1881, the village was historically a fishing station for whalers. Today Woodbridge is famous for its apples, cherries, pears, many varieties of vegetables, seafood and farmhouse cheeses. Don't miss the Woodbridge Market and be sure to sample the sheep's milk cheeses at the Grandvewe Cheese Factory. This farm is also home to the Hartshorn Distillery, which produces spirits made from sheep's whey.
