Located at the crossroads of several roads, including the one linking Lilongwe to Lake Malawi, Salima is a town with more than 75 000 inhabitants. She grew up during the English protectorate because of the train that connected her to Blantyre, and became one of the most important commercial cities in the north of the country. Today, the city offers no tourist interest, except for its few shops or service stations to get supplies, better not to go to bed and reach Senga Bay 20 km away.
