Established in 1902 by the White Fathers, Mua Mission is one of the oldest Catholic presences in Malawi. The mission includes a church, a seminary, a dispensary, but it is best known for hosting an art and culture centre. Founded by Father Claude Boucher in 1976, a Quebecker who has lived in the country for over 40 years, the Kungoni Centre and its rich museum are now an essential stopover for tourists wishing to discover Malawi's culture. The centre also allows local artists to present and sell their works (masks, wooden statuettes, etc.).
