On the shores of Lake Malawi, Senga Bay is the closest seaside resort to the capital. It is one of the favorite weekend spots of Lilongwe residents, due to its many hotels and lodges located on the beaches between Senga Bay and Kambiri Point. In addition to its fine sandy beaches, you can visit the Mpatsanjoka River, which is home to some hippos and several bird species, and the crocodile farm. Senga Bay has a rather limited tourist interest, generally one stays at the hotel to indulge in idleness on the beach or in seaside activities (canoeing, kayaking, sailing and boat trips).
