This part of Lake Malawi is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and has a unique ecosystem. The park is home to a rich fauna, with baboons, monitors, kudu, a few hippos and rare leopards and servals. Several hundred species of birds inhabit its shores: the white-breasted cormorant and the African shade as well as the majestic fishing eagle can be found there. In addition to the famous cichlids, the lake waters are home to several endemic fish species. Some of them are of interest to evolutionary theory comparable to the fishes of the Galapagos Islands. The national park contains wooded hills and islands and islets that fly the wave. Apart from the islands, the most beautiful place to snorkel in the park is Otter Point.Admission: US$10 per person and US$3-7 for a vehicle. Park gate open from 6am to 6pm
