You can win El Ayote, a "mountain port", which is reached in less than 3 hours by a bad track. If you leave around 5 a. m. or 6 p. m., you will be rewarded by an arrival in the rush of the grand-street; you have joined the Atlantic tropical plain and the heat will soon be at the meeting. Choose a Thursday or Saturday that are market days where the atmosphere appears from a Western. If you don't find where to stay decently, it's not surprising. Come back with the last buses that leave in the early afternoon towards Santo Domingo or Juigalpa.
