Boaco, founded in 1763, is known as the city on both floors, as it extends over rough terrain. At the limit of the peaceful and Atlantic slopes, it is a small, pleasant, active and cool town in the heart of green mountains. The region is dedicated to the breeding and culture of coffee. The employer celebration in honour of the apostle Santiago is celebrated on 25 July. At the beginning of July, you can also attend the "Feria Láctea", the dairy festival: This is an opportunity to taste the delicious white cheeses that are produced there. You can visit the late Baroque church, which houses a rich collection of pre-Columbian idols discovered in the surrounding area. Between Boaco and Juigalpa, the village of Camoapa is famous for its hand-woven Chapeaux Japa hats. It also makes the most famous and richly decorated horse saddles in the country.
