Located 28 km from the capital, this 184-hectare reserve is home to a vast colony of pericos del Pacífico, the famous green parrots that populate the crater of the Masaya volcanic complex. The subtropical forest is interesting, as is the 40 m-high waterfall where the parrots nest. All around, tropical fruit plantations. Camping is possible.
