Located 8 km from Masaya, the village is renowned for its horticultural craftsmen: people come here to buy flowers from all over the country. Also worth seeing: basketry (including bamboo baskets) and the Baroque-style colonial church built in the 17th century.The view of the Apoyo lagoon, the Mombacho volcano and Granada in the background is breathtaking. This is the village's other main attraction. Souvenir stands and several restaurants have set up shop here. It's possible to hike to the Apoyo lagoon below.
