This is a small village that saw its future change when, in 1880, the decision was made to build the Lac de Pont dam on the Armançon River. Intended to supply the Burgundy Canal, which was then a revolutionary new means of moving goods, the waters of Lake Pont continued to flow into the canal as needed. Indeed, it regularly requires upgrades as provided for in its design and principles, and several artificial lakes in the region participate. Thus, Pont-et-Massène now has a very attractive promenade to discover the dam and bypass the lake, as well as a beach completely refurbished in 2019 for bathers. A campsite is set up and a rental shop offers water sports such as windsurfing, canoeing or water skiing. A place that has its charm, stop if you pass by.
