Honnelles is a small town of some 5,000 inhabitants, situated in the centre of the Hauts-Pays nature park, an area of extensive woodland. Honnelles is also home to the very famous Caillou-qui-bique site, forest massifs, old marble factories, farms and castles and has a very rich culinary heritage - snails, cheeses, beer, wine, honey... At the Caillou-qui-bique, linger at the Verhaeren site and on the Circuit des pierres (stone circuit) where 24 steles are engraved with the poet's most beautiful verses for all eternity. Also worth discovering is the state forest of Colfontaine (764 hectares) where Fenelon, Archbishop of Cambrai, lived.
