It is the commercial port of Lanai. It was built in 1926 by the Dole company who wanted to export its pineapple production. Destroyed several times by cyclones, it was the American army that rebuilt it as it is today. Tourists don't have much to do there, except to admire the sunset. From the docks, the view is indeed clear and unobstructed. Dolphins are regularly observed there and in season whales also show up. Please note that access to the port is limited on Thursdays due to the importance of cargo.Transportation. From Lanai City, access is direct via the Kamalapau Highway
