It has two twin peaks, East Peak and West Peak, or Ningeroongun and Barrajanda, which rise to 694 m above sea level. Legend has it that an Aboriginal hunter named Gwayla had two hunting dogs, each of which was killed and buried under these peaks, hence the name The Springbrook Plateau part, located between 600 and 1000 m above sea level, offers beautiful views as well as a hike that starts at the Tallanbana or Goomoolahra picnic areas, and passes by numerous waterfalls like Twin Falls, Rainbow Falls, Goomoolahra Falls..The Natural Bridge section is a naturally formed rock arch over Cave Creek. Formed from a waterfall, this cave is home to a colony of glowworms and many tour operators organize night tours in the cave. However, swimming is not allowed in the cave in order to preserve the habitat of the glow worms.
