Byron Bay is the meeting place for Australia's golden youth. Surfers, globetrotters and backpackers from all over the world also gather here. In the 1960s, the first surfers settled in this small town with its superb beaches and heavenly microclimate. The hippies followed. In this seaside resort, the climate is warm in winter and summer. This surfing mecca has cheap accommodation, beach stores and small restaurants. Every year at Easter, the Bluesfest takes place here. Since the end of 2017, the town has been home to the first solar train line (Byron Solar Train), which is 3 km long.
