Travel Guide Lezama

It is a municipality of 2,500 inhabitants located in the heart of the Txorierri valley, bounded on the south by a mountain range separating it from the Ibaizabal valley, and on the north by the Irurimendi, Xantoibaso and Urrusti mountains. Several noble houses and towers testify to the medieval origins of Lezama. Among the oldest, the house of Basabil and Arechavaleta from the 10th century, and the house of Oxangoiti built in the year 1024. The church of Santa María, which has a Renaissance façade, and the Lezama tower, built in the 14th century, are also worth seeing. The industrial and agricultural sectors employ the majority of the population.
