Bamendjinda is a discreet chiefdom between Bafoussam and Mboudacreated towards the end of the 17thcentury by Chief Mbougong, the chiefdom is characterized by its conical and pyramidal roof architecture, symbolizing justice, politeness and keeping one's word. Its museum is the first of its kind in Cameroon to deal with the subject of slavery. Visitors discover customary slavery, the phenomenon of the slave trade and its historical and social consequences within the chiefdom. The discovery itinerary takes you to the Mekoup cave, the Mezuiné waterfall and the former slave market square, extending the history presented by the museum.
