Travel Guide Bamendjou

Bamendjou is a Bamiléké village in the Hauts-plateaux department, some twenty kilometers southwest of the crossroads town of Bafoussam. The Bamendjoun chieftaincy has been marked by its oral tradition, making art a means of expression down through the generations. The DE kings Fo'o Bakum, chief weaver, Fo'o Tsela, chief blacksmith, or Fo'oNgoum, producer of raffia-fibre blankets, are perfect examples of the importance of craftsmanship in the life of the chiefdom.
