Makénéné is a stopover town, located halfway between Yaoundé and Bafoussam. It's a real stopover for travelers and transporters on the road to Bafoussam, and this passage generates traffic that allows the little town to create activity and a whole small economy based on the passage of travelers.Stores and stalls have sprung up like mushrooms along the road. You'll find goat kebabs for 200 FCFA which, with grilled plantains and a "lukewarm" juice, make a delicious meal... An original stopover in the shade. You'll also find all kinds of seasonal fruit, which travellers buy for their freshness, their lower prices than in town, so as not to arrive at their destination empty-handed, or to snack on during the journey... In some of the town's bars, you'll find slot machines which, as in Europe, are a real windfall for their owners. After Makénéné, the landscape changes again, and so do the houses. Large blocks of clay are used as bricks, and the walls are very thick. All the land is farmed, some fields producing corn, others vegetables, and there are also banana plantations. The soil is clayey and although the environment remains green, it has been heavily deforested. It's no longer exactly the dense forest that forms a wall on either side of the road.
