Shortly after Bangwa, some 50 km from Bafoussam in the Ndé department, lies Bangangté, a charming little town with shady streets and a relatively mild climate. Although the town doesn't attract many tourists, it is well served by a network of asphalted roads in good condition, and is home to an important chiefdom well worth a visit. Its twice-weekly market is renowned for its liveliness. Nearby, you can also see the Pendou and Bantoum waterfalls, which are only accessible on foot.Bangangté is a model city in terms of ecological and environmental policies, with highly innovative urban planning and waste treatment policies in particular.Although quiet and not always one of the region's preferred tourist itineraries, every two years the town hosts the Festival des Arts et de la Culture Médumba, which takes place in July.Over the years, and since 1995, this gigantic cultural event has acquired a growing notoriety, happily crossing the region and even the country's borders through the magic of ICT.For 15 days, from early morning until late at night, a mix of attractive sounds offers festival-goers of all ages a festive atmosphere and total immersion in the region's ancestral rites and traditions.
