The island of Suriqui (Parko of its real name) is located in the minor lake Hinay Marca. This island is well known for its totora boats (a plant of the reed family growing on the shores of the lake), which allowed the Andean man to navigate on the lake since the Antiquity. You will be able to admire the technique of their manufacture, a knowledge that has been transmitted from generation to generation. If you are lucky, you will hear the anecdotes of the peasant Paulino Esteban who participated in the construction of the famous RA II boat, which crossed the Atlantic Ocean during an expedition organized by the Norwegian Thor Heyerdahl in the early 1970s.
