about 6,000 inhabitants. Altitude : 3 850 m. Copacabana owes its name to its sanctuary, both pre-Columbian and Catholic, which is just as magical as the lake that shelters it on its shores, at the foot of a promontory. The sanctuary of Copacabana is located 155 kilometers from La Paz, in the southern part of Lake Titicaca. This small city stands in a bay, framed by two hills: to the north, the Calvario, and to the south, the Seroka hill. Copacabana is a perfect stopover between the islands of the Sun and the Moon, the small villages and the numerous communities that welcome respectful tourists.
