12 km east of Attapeu, follow Route 18 B. This large village is located on the north shore of the Se River, formerly called Ban Phang Daeng. There is a temple that was built at the time of King Say Setthathirath. He received his current name, Vat Pha Saysettha, the day when the ashes of the king of Lane Kitsch were placed in the stupa (built around 1577 by his son). This vat is obviously very revered.
