3 km from downtown Luang Namtha, near the airport, Ban Vieng Neua is the home of the Tai Kalom minority (also known as Tai Yuan or Tai Youn). Their houses are built in a traditional style. The villagers use them for certain occasions: meetings, weddings, parties... And tourists can visit them. You can go through an agency to visit this village, but it is not mandatory. It is possible to spend a night at the Homestay Ban Vieng Neua managed by the community. You can probably attend traditional dances and also participate in the life of the village.
