Burned down several times over the centuries, of recent industrial development, this town of 50,000 inhabitants does not have much charm. It is its environment and its location in the middle of the woods that attracts. You have to go to the south-east of the city (take Ibaek Strandvej) to get the best view of the city nestled at the bottom of a fjord. Six kilometers further on, by taking a winding road, one arrives at Munkebjerg, 93 m above the fjord. There is a luxury hotel and a casino.
