In the south of Fionie, 50 km from Odense, this small town stretches out around its harbor from where ferries leave for three nearby islets (including Bjørnø, a bird paradise) and for the northern tip of Ærø (arrival in Søby). In the background, woods and, a little further, the Fionie Alps: a succession of hills culminating at 126 m... A large slate bell tower dominates the houses which resemble those of the "Fionian Village", an open-air museum near Odense. Pedestrian city center with small paved streets, climbing roses on very low half-timbered houses... There is also the very beautiful museum of the Fionian Painters.
