This protected reserve, located 22 km from Howick, consists of no less than 900 ha of native forest. In the heart of the Karkloof Nature Reserve, there are over 80 different species of birds, so look up birdwatchers! You come here to hike through a superb landscape, to take advantage of a big breath of oxygen in this small jungle, you go through the paths, sometimes arranged with pretty wooden footbridges, to arrive at the falls. There, the eyes always widen at the sight of the natural waterfalls which tumble down in the middle of nature. The reserve offers one hell of a zip line over the peaks.
