Nestled in the beautiful KwaZulu-Natal region, this is a tiny village in the middle of the Midlands on the R103. Lidgetton may not have a spectacular appeal, but it is famous for the trout fishing in its nearby river. So take note! For golfers, you will find the course at Gowrie Farm to be quite friendly and in a pleasant setting. Not far from here, on the way back down to Howick, the last stone of the Midmar Dam was erected in 1965. It provides drinking water for irrigation and industry. The dam is impressive: its crest extends over 1,423 m and is 32 m high.
