It is the capital of the dairy industry, which provides almost a third of the country's production. Numerous dairy farms share the land of Hatillo on 108 km2. If you want to taste some of the artisanal cheeses produced locally, and even learn the process of making them, and create your own cheese, go to Vaca Negra. Apart from that, Hatillo has one or two small patrimonial curiosities, such as a museum of art and history, but nothing exceptional. It is, however, famous for its Festival de las Máscaras, a very colorful and lively event celebrated every year on December 28
