With less than 85,000 inhabitants, this city ideally located in the center of the northern coast can quickly become an interesting starting point to explore the region. Many activities are offered, including visits to the observatory, the Camuy caves or the indigenous site. The Arecibo Valley has charm, with landscapes between farmland, coastal dunes and mountains. The city has many nicknames, among them El diamante del Norte (the diamond of the north). But the most famous is the Villa del Capitan Correa, in honor of the battle that Lieutenant Antonio de los Reyes Correa won against the British troops in 1702.
