ARECIBO OBSERVATORY
It was one of the world's largest radio telescopes. This giant telescope was instrumental in the detection of the first indirect evidence of gravitational waves (1974) and the discovery of the first exoplanets (1992). The observatory is tucked away in the green hills about 2 hours northeast of Puerto Rico. Despite its collapse in 2020, the site has received the necessary funding for the museum to reopen in March 2022. Here you'll find a display of telescope debris, and learn a lot about the solar system, as well as other galaxies.
