Covering 3,500 km2, Digya Park, dotted with lakes, is Ghana's oldest protected area. Although officially a national park since 1971, it has been protected since 1900! Elephants, buffalo, leopards, monkeys and baboons roam the park's grasslands and peaks. But that doesn't mean they're easy to see. Last but not least, thanks to the proximity of Lake Volta, the area is rich in bird species (over 230 species listed), some of which are endemic to the park.
