Travel Guide Motu Auira

Unique in Polynesia, the motu Auira can be reached by foot from the north of the main island in about 20 minutes. Depending on the tides, the water will be up to your knees, or up to your waist: a nice walk from Tereia beach! Another option to discover this little jewel of Maupiti is to stay in the only guesthouse of the motu, logically named "Pension Auira": Edna and Gilbert will give you a warm welcome. In any case, try to discover the remains of the marae during your visit. The site is unfortunately not maintained, but ask Gilbert for advice on how to find it.
