Travel Guide Erseka

Erseka has a population of around 3,500. It is the seat of the municipality of Kolonja (pop. 10,000), which is part of the Korça district. The town lies 41 km south of Korça and 153 km northeast of Gjirokastra(via Leskovik and Permët). It can be reached by minibus from Gjirokastra and Korça (2 per day). This farming town (apples, honey, livestock) lies at an altitude of 900 m, at the foot of Mount Gramos (2,523 m), where the Greek border crosses 3 km to the east. In the neighboring valleys, dotted with hamlets and tekkés, you'll find mostly shepherds. There's a hospital, gas station, hotels and restaurants.
