The Cook's Atelier is not only a place where you can take cooking lessons, it is also the address of a wine shop. AP Wine managed by Kendall and Laurent Franchini. Marjorie Taylor, former chef, teaches the art of local cuisine, her daughter and son-in-law manage the wine shop. AP Wine offers beautiful selections, Kendall, sommelier ensures the clients. Burgundy, Alsace, Loire, Champagne, Bordeaux, all regions of France are represented. Small productions, original and exclusive suggestions in the region. The superb boutique also offers an impressive range of kitchen utensils, a collection of pots and containers made of Williams Sonoma or Mauviel 1830 copper. Fine grocery products and a plethora of objects that are both beautiful and useful in cooking… AP Wine is also a convenient online store. But the must is to go to the shop where all these people are installed in a beautifully arranged and charming place. A loft spread over three levels on rue de Lorraine.

Had the pleasure of meeting Marjorie herself while she was opening up her store; what a lovely woman to talk to. I didn’t know I was basically talking to a celebrity. :) She kindly offered to let us in a little early, we were in desperate need of good coffee, and when we came back a little later her son in law delivered. Best coffee in town by far, and of the best espressos I ever had. The store is a feast for the eyes.

Just a quick question. Are the chefs French heritage or are they Americans? I didn’t want to leave a star rating yet but could not post my question without doing so. I haven’t been but I was looking for a French cooking school and just came across this site. Hoping to visit their store sometime this fall. It looks fabulous.

What a day! I am so happy that it worked out for three of us to be able to get into a class while visiting Beaune. It was truly a highlight of our trip. Not only did we learn tons about French cooking but sat down with the most awesome group and enjoyed the fruits of our labor. The whole staff made sure our visit was the most exceptional experience - the coffee, the instructions, the food, the people, the wine and champagne…..simply the best! Thanks for having us in your beautiful store and kitchen!

Je crois que tout a été dit. Nous aimons Beaune, pour sa douceur de vivre, son vin, sa table, mais s'il y avait une raison de s'implanter là, ce serait la proximité magique de cette boutique-concept !

Félicitations au Cook’s Atelier pour son concept unique ! Un lieu où l'on peut non seulement acheter des vins exquis et de magnifiques couteaux de cuisine, mais aussi apprendre l'art de la cuisine. Votre passion pour la gastronomie et votre engagement à transmettre vos connaissances sont admirables. Que votre atelier continue à éveiller les papilles et à inspirer les gourmets en herbe.
