PATRIARCHE PÈRE ET FILS
Petit Futé's opinion on PATRIARCHE PÈRE ET FILS

The Patriarche cellars in Beaune are a must-see institution and celebrated their 240th anniversary in 2020. A privileged place for the discovery of the climats of Burgundy registered in the world heritage of the Unesco. You have the opportunity to visit the largest cellars in Burgundy. Built between the 13th and 18th centuries, they house 2 million bottles and lead you through a maze of 5 km of galleries full of history with magical lighting and interactive terminals and tasting stages. You will discover a history that began in 1796 when Jean-Baptiste Patriarche bought the former convent of the Visitandines and created his wine business. In 1940, André Boisseaux took over the reins, becoming one of the first wine merchant-breeder-owner-harvesters in the region. The company was bought by the Castel Group in 2011. You will have access to a range of more than 300 references of exceptional wines, regional appellations, 1ers Crus, Grands Crus, Crémants... You will end your visit with a superb boutique where the wines are displayed alongside local products and wine arts. The signature "Patriarche Père et Fils" embodies two hundred and forty years of tradition in Burgundy wines.
Several tour options are available, from the "Liberté" tasting tour, free with an audio guide and video terminals, to the "Privilège" tour, accompanied by a sommelier with memorable tastings of great wines.
