On the road from the Dead Sea to Madaba, the hot springs of Ma'in have been known since antiquity. There are no less than 63 thermal springs in the area, rich in sodium, radon, hydrogen sulphite and carbon dioxide, used to treat rheumatism. Herod, the king of Judea, even came here to be treated. The springs of Ma'in emerge in a splendid environment of canyons and gorges punctuated by gorges, pools (often landscaped) and waterfalls of up to 65°. The site has a spa and a fabulous hotel, expensive of course, but really worth breaking your piggy bank.
